Companies House have recently sent out a communication to all companies about their new requirements for company directors to verify their identification.
The changes are being introduced to help tackle issues such as fraudulent company registrations and the use of false director identities.
While the identity verification process will eventually become mandatory, we are currently in a transitional period. The exact date from which verification will be required has not yet been confirmed but is expected to be in Autumn 2025.
As soon as we are aware of this date we will provide an update.
To support our clients through this new requirement, Hunter Gee Holroyd will be registering as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP). This will allow us to carry out the identity verification process on behalf of our clients, making compliance as straightforward as possible.
We will share further information on how this will work and what you need to do in the coming weeks.
