We are incredibly proud to share the highlights from the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards 2025, which took place at New Dock Hall in Leeds on 27th February. It was an evening filled with celebration, recognition, and appreciation for the outstanding talent within the accountancy profession across the region.
The evening was made even more special by the incredible achievement of our very own Kelsey Butterfield, who won the Rising Star of the Year award! This prestigious award is a testament to Kelsey’s hard work, leadership, and dedication to both our firm and the wider business community.
As Senior Manager, Kelsey has played a pivotal role in transforming our corporate finance and tax services, strengthening client relationships, and driving growth. Her contributions extend beyond the office as well, for example, her involvement as Chair of Make-York Young Professionals shows her commitment to fostering a thriving business network for young professionals in the region.
The Judges at the awards said:
“This year’s rising star dazzled the judges with their ambition, rapid career progression, and impactful mentoring, balancing a wide-reaching remit with impressive feedback from colleagues and clients. This individual is a role model for future talent”.
Managing Director, Mark Grewer, commented:
“Kelsey’s win is incredibly well-deserved. Her dedication, expertise, and passion for both her work and the business community make her a true rising star. We are delighted to see her talent and hard work recognised at such a prestigious event.”
Although we didn’t take home the Independent Firm of the Year award, we are incredibly proud to have been shortlisted. Being named a finalist in such a competitive category is a testament to our commitment to exceptional client service, innovation, and the dedication of our entire team at Hunter Gee Holroyd.
We want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the finalists and winners at this year’s awards. It was fantastic to see so many outstanding firms and individuals being recognised for their contributions to the profession.
Finally, we would like to say a huge thank you to our incredible team, clients, and community for their continued support. While we may not have taken home the Independent Firm of the Year award, we remain committed to our mission of making a difference – and we couldn’t be prouder of Kelsey’s incredible achievement at the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards!
Here’s to another amazing year ahead for Hunter Gee Holroyd!
